The Taliban In Afghanistan

On September 11, 2001, the United States was attacked on home soil. The Taliban in Afghanistan, namely Osama bin Laden, was responsible. President George W. Bush then declared war on terrorism.

(The above photo is of a convoy that I was a part of in Afghanistan. I took this photo.)

Bush demanded that the Taliban give bin Laden to the United States on September 20, 2001.

On September 21, 2001, Abdul Salam Zaeef said no to President Bush. Zaeef is the ambassador to Pakistan from the Taliban.

On October 7, 2001, the United States started air strikes in Afghanistan. The three cities we bombed were Jalalabad, Kabul, and Kandahar.

The Taliban ran from these cities in November of 2001. But Osama bin Laden has still not been found. We continue to search for him, but with no results. From time to time, he puts out a tape dissing the United States.

It is believed that bin Laden is hiding out in the mountains between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

**Update, still no Osama bin Laden, but the female Osama bin Laden, Aafia Siddique, was arrested in Afghanistan in July of 2008. This was just made public today, August 13, 2008. This woman is a graduate of MIT and plotted to kill our former Presidents Bush, Clinton and Carter. She was also going to attack the White House. Why do we allow these people over here and educate them to try and destroy us? Amazing, isn't it?

The pictures below were taken in Afghanistan. They are of a convoy that was attacked. This convoy was carrying food, not for the military, but for the people of Afghanistan, when it was attacked by Taliban in Afghanistan.

There were forty trucks in the convoy. All were destroyed with the food still inside them. All of the drivers were killed, drivers whose only goal was to make a living. They were not hurting anyone. These enemies of the United States are very sick individuals.

I have pictures of some of the bodies. We will not post these though.

Notice the desert in the foreground. Yet, just a short distance from where this occurred, are beautiful, lush mountains.

Fire, smoke, terror. Innocent people. Kind of reminds me of 9/11. Let us never forget.....
