Snow in Afghanistan

by Marcus Coleman
(Kabul)

Snow in Afghanistan

Snow in Afghanistan

Snow in Afghanistan, really? Yes. I woke up the other day to three inches of white powder on the ground. I was really surprised. I knew it got cold in the desert but not this cold.

Anyway, I will post a picture and you can see for yourself.

It has gotten as cold as 22 degrees below zero Fahrenheit this month here in Afghanistan. We have had quite a few blizzards with white-out conditions this winter here. The guys tell me the cold and snow should have stopped by now (February 2008) but it just keeps coming.
