Sending Package to Iraq
I got an email asking about sending package to Iraq from another country.
Here is the email:
My name is Hanna and I live in Poland. My best friend who is American is now in Iraq. He asked me to send him a care package but it is terribly expensive to send it from Poland and it takes about a month or more (the post office wasn't able to assess that).
For a package that weights about 10 pounds it costs over
100$. Is it possible to somehow send the package from Poland to the US first and them someone there could send it to Iraq? Please reply because I really care about him and would like to make him happy. Thank you, Hanna
My reply was to send it to me and I would send it to him from here. Also it might be easier to order things off the internet and have them shipped straight from the manufacturer. This can be done through our Amazon Store button. We are here to help in any way we can. I also told her to make sure there are no drugs, alcohol or any of the other forbidden things in the package. The postal service in Iraq x-rays each box. If they find that something looks like it has been opened, then they open the box and confiscate the item. So if sending a bottle of mouthwash, which many like to put other liquids in, if the seal is broken, then the post office will take it. For more information see the button entitled "Care Packages."
