Saddam Hussein In Hell

by Mark Porter
(Marquette, MI USA)

I have worked in Iraq during the war. I arrived shortly after Saddam Hussein was captured. The United Nations sanctions were not responsible for the suffering of the people of Iraq. Saddam was responsible for the suffering. He made it hell for his own people and now he is burning in hell. How ironic and how sad.

The money Saddam Hussein got from oil sales was not used to care for his people. Ever. And it is a shame. The people in Iraq have lived in extreme poverty while Iraq has some of the greatest wealth in world.

The wealth belonged to the people, not Saddam. However, Saddam Hussein, who was finally hanged by his own people, thought the wealth was his. He trained his own sons, also now in hell, to abuse and mistreat their people. They are in hell burning for their crimes committed on their own people. I wonder what Islam teaches about how you are to treat your fellow Muslims. I guess Saddam Hussein thought he was above his own religion's teachings.

Iraq has the wealth to be one of the greatest countries in the world. Yet Saddam took that wealth and abused it. Leave the WMD out of the picture and I still believe the United States did the right thing in removing him from power. He did not deserve the wealth he squandered on warfare. The Iraqis call President Bush "The Great Satan". Saddam's crimes against humanity makes "The Great Satan" look like an Angel.
