Permanent Military Bases In Iraq

It came out on the news yesterday that Bush is not trying to build permanent military bases in Iraq. So bringing in all of the housing, building stores, MWR facilities and everything else is not permanent? We have been there for more than 5 years now. McCain jokingly says we could be there for 100 more years and it is not permanent?
U.S. Ambassador Ryan Crocker says there will be no permanent agreement for the United States to have a presence in Iraq.
"It is not going to be forever," he told reporters at the State Department. "There isn't going to be an agreement that infringes on Iraqi sovereignty," and the military agreement will have a provision for periodic review and renewal, as do similar agreements with other countries, Crocker said.
With the incompetency of the Iraqi government and military to take care of themselves and their people against the insurgents, we are going to have to be there. You would think after 5 years, they would be able to defend themselves. These folks do not have the right thinking or training to do this. Since they were little kids, they have been trained that Saddam is their god and whatever he says goes so now that he is not there, they cannot think of what to do. They need to have a whole new way of thinking. Maybe this can be instilled in the school children now for a future generation, but the adults who are there just don't get it.
