Job Opportunities In Iraq And Afghanistan
Job opportunities in Iraq and/or in Afghanistan, are available and I have composed a useful list of companies for you. With the changing situation in Iraq and Afghanistan, some of the information may be out of date. It helps if you have military experience but some companies hire personnel without it. Update January 2011 I have ran across this company called
Danger Zone Jobs.
As someone with overseas contracting experience I recommend Danger Zone Jobs and here’s why. First of all they provide great information about working in Dangerous areas. No need to apply for a job in a Danger Zone if you are easily frightened. Second of all they are not trying to scam you. They provide the tools and other information necessary for a person to get a job. They do not get one the job. If a company is out there advertising a fee for a guaranteed job, walk away. It is a scam. Third of all, following their tips and recommendations, I was able to get my jobs in Iraq and Afghanistan. They have many tools, to include resume help, available to help one find a great paying job! The membership fee was worth its weight in gold since I made about $350,000 during the five years I worked overseas. Check them out today! Another company that provides a service to those trying to find work in the oil fields is
101 Offshore Oil Jobs.
They provide materials on how to get these great paying jobs all over the world. Check out both of these companies!
Update September 2010 I ran across this blog called
Stratus Careers.
It provides some helpful information on jobs in the United States and overseas. UPDATE 2-17-2010: I NOTICED THAT KBR IS HIRING FOR DRIVERS AND FOOD SERVICE WORKERS PLUS SOME JOBS IN CONSTRUCTION. FLUOR HAS A LOT OF JOB OPENINGS AS WELL AS DYNCORP. Update: 4-27-09 There have been some changes and now many positions overseas are requiring that you have a security clearance. Many companies will not hire you unless you have it. But you cannot get it unless you have a job that requires it. So, you may get stuck in a rut and not able to get a job overseas because of this.
Perhaps one way to accomplish this is to join the National Guard or Reserves. If you have no prior service then the maximum age you can be is 42. If you have prior service, take your current age, subtract from it the number of years you were in. The new number is your age as far as the service is concerned. I am 49. I spent eight years in. Forty-nine minus eight is forty-one. As far as the military is concerned, I am 41. So these are some things to consider. Many people are flocking to the Middle East in wartime to make big money to pay off bills and to save up for major purchases such as land, a large home, a boat, a trailer, or vacation property. Others just want a good savings account or the security of a retirement fund. A lot of the jobs are by contract only. The contracts are usually for one year at a time. Some give you a monthly salary. Others pay you a base salary plus hazard duty pay because you are in a war zone. Many of the companies offer a contract completion bonus payable only after the year of service has been completed. Computer jobs tend to be the highest paying jobs. Just remember that whether you go to Iraq or Afghanistan, not to mention Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, or the United Arab Emirates, you will be in the Middle East and not the United States of America, Canada, or Europe. This is a dangerous place with people who do not value human life the way we do. Click on the name of the company below and you will go to that company's website. This way you can check each company out and apply with those companies you think will be good for you. Job opportunities in Iraq and Afghanistan abound and most pay very well.
UK Passport Service Guide tells you everything you need to know about applying for a UK passport including lost or stolen passports, urgent passports, new passports. Also advice on applying for British Citizenship and the UK citizenship Test.
The following are some companies to look at for job opportunities in Iraq. I try to keep the list updated, but the employment scene overseas is an ever-changing landscape. Also, please keep in mind, I have no contacts with any hiring recruiter, so I cannot get you a job. And bear in mind, that competition for these jobs has stiffened in the last few months as the economy tanks in the United States. You will have to look hard and long and keep applying until the door opens. Having a good resume and cover letter can be helpful as well. Job opportunities in Iraq continues with the following list: 06-15-09 UPDATE: I just received an email from
Pelatron.
They are looking for IT type people to work in Iraq. They do have more than just IT jobs though so check them out.
