Iraq War Truth -- Prayer Is The Answer
Many want Iraq war truth. Here it is: Prayer and reading the Bible are what will sustain our troops and civilians in harm's way in Iraq and Afghanistan. They will also sustain our families back home. God is with us, holding us up, wanting to know us intimately. It is our job through prayer and reading his Word, the Bible, to draw close to him so he can give us the strength to do what he wants us to do.
If you don't have a Bible, but want to read one,
please read the Bible here.
Your prayer requests are important to us here at Iraq Up Close And Personal. Juanita and I understand the danger of being in harm's way and the fear of having someone you love in Iraq and/or Afghanistan.
We care about you, but more importantly, we serve the living God who cares about you and loves you more than anyone else. He loves you so much that he sent his son, Jesus Christ, to die in your place for your sins. If you don't know him personally today, you can have a relationship with him. He is ready and willing to forgive you and he wants a personal relationship with you.
Juanita and I want to pray with you. Please submit your prayer requests to us through the prayer request form below and we will pray for you. Many others in our caring community, through this website, will see your requests and pray for your needs as well. You can remain anonymous. God knows who you are and that is all that really matters. May God richly bless you in every way.
David
PS--We want to hear about your praises to the Lord, too!

The Iraq war truth is that we do not have the courage, strength, or wisdom to fight the enemy on our own. We need guidance from our Heavenly Father. Our families back home do not have the strength to carry on while we are in a war zone. They need the Lord's strength.
Allow me to pray with you.
Gracious Heavenly Father, we thank you and praise you for this beautiful day. We thank you and praise you for your Son Jesus' birth, life, death and resurrection. We praise you for peace and the abundant life we have through your Son Jesus.
Father we ask this day that you put a shield of protection around each military and civilian person so that they may survive the day and night in a hostile country that is full of people trying to take away the freedom that we as Americans enjoy.
Father, instead of people searching for Iraq war truth, help them to search for you.
We pray that you keep them from all harm, Father. We pray that the only people killed in Iraq are those bent on killing others out of ignorance of what your love is truly about. May the harm they wish to inflict on others be visited on them. May their bombs blow them up. May the traps they lay be sprung upon them.
Father, we pray for the families back home. We ask that you keep each family safe and healthy. We pray for the single mom or dad trying to keep the family going.
We pray for strength, wisdom and courage for them as they work, fix meals, clean the house, wash clothes, shuffle the children from one project to another, discipline, pay the bills, keep the house in good repair, keep the vehicles running and the multiple tasks that have to be accomplished to keep things going.
Father, we pray that there would be no adultery or unfaithfulness for those who are married. We ask that you keep at bay those who seek to destroy a marriage through infidelity.
Father, we pray for the children who are missing a parent. We pray that during this time the children would be on their best behavior. We pray that the children would remember their absent parent in a prayer each day.
For the families who have lost a loved one, we pray that you would comfort them. There are no words that can be said when a loved one has given their life for their country and for their family's future security. There is nothing to fill the void. All we can ask is that your peace would rest upon them in their time of dismay.
We pray that this war will come to an end. An end that will see freedom rule in Iraq and Afghanistan. We thank you and praise you for the answer to our prayers. We ask these things in Jesus' name. Amen.
Encouraging Psalm
Psalm 1 (NIV):
1 Blessed is the man
who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked
or stand in the way of sinners
or sit in the seat of mockers.
2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD,
and on his law he meditates day and night.
3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither.
Whatever he does prospers.
4 Not so the wicked!
They are like chaff
that the wind blows away.
5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,
nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.
6 For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous,
but the way of the wicked will perish.
Let God direct your path. We do not know how long our country will be in Iraq. Whether or not we got in for the right reasons or because of wrong intelligence, the Iraq war truth at this time does not matter. We are there. We need to let go of wanting the Iraq war truth and the past and let God guide us into doing what he wants accomplished there now.
Iraq war truth will not change our current situation. Let us pray together that God will bring this war to a swift end.
