Iraq Pullout
The Iraq pullout or "drawdown" or "end of combat" in Iraq is well underway as some 80,000 American troops have been pulled out of Iraq as of August 2010 as reported by President Obama's staff. The commanding General in Iraq, General Odierno, has stated that Iraq forces are "fully prepared to take over" in a video conference with the White House. "Obama met with Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, Defense Secretary Robert Gates, national security adviser James Jones and, by video conference, the U.S. commander in Iraq, Gen. Ray Odierno." So the role of combat comes to an end in Iraq for American troops. Iraqis are ready to handle their own security situation as the Iraq Pullout continues. This is good for the United States. Our troops can finally come home as the Iraq Pullout continues...Oops--they can now be sent to Afghanistan where the situation is worsening by the day. America was making headway in Afghanistan but that is a crumbling wall now as the insurgents leave Iraq to focus on Afghanistan. This is a sew-saw affect that keeps taking place between the two countries. But enough on Afghanistan for now. Back to Iraq. Was the United States role in Iraq a disaster? Did thousands of Americans give their life for nothing. Did spouses and children suffer for nothing? Did marriages break up for nothing? Are there thousands of permanently disabled vets for nothing? Was billions of dollars spent for nothing? No it was not for nothing. What the US has bought is time. Time to put security forces within our own country to stop any more 9-11s from happening. There will not be another 9-11 attack from radical Muslims. The price has been too high for them as well. They now realize that the United States will not tolerate an attack on its own soil. Osama has often said that 9-11 was more successful than he have even dreamed it could have been. What he has not said, is that the backlash has been a nightmare. He never expected for the United States to carry things as far as she did. Radical Muslims will now focus on getting total control of Iraq after the Iraq pullout is over. Iraq is not more in shape to protect itself today than it was seven years ago. So what has been happening during the Iraq pullout? Al-Sadr has moved to Iran. From Iran he has been putting his Army together, stocking piling weapons and planning. Do we think nuclear fuel is the only thing the Russians have been supplying to Iran. They have been equipping Iran for a major assault on Iraq. They will wait until the pullout is complete in 2011. They will wait until just before elections in 2012 then they will attack. The United States political team will be stunned. "What do we do?" will be the major cry of the candidates. No one will want to do anything since there is an election going on. In the mean time Iran will overrun Iraq, in a mostly bloodless battle, in a matter of weeks. Why? Many of Iraq's leaders are or will be on the Iranian payroll. They already know Iraq cannot win in a battle by itself. So they will surrender outright to leave their forces in tact and line their pockets with green.
Radical Muslims do not want to admit to it, but money corrupts them just as easily as it does anyone else. There will be some Iraqi patriots who will fight a guerrilla war, but in the end they will lose. But all of this will take sometime. Hopefully, the US has had time to rest and regroup. Now if the Radical Muslims are willing to stay out of Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, leaving these oil fields alone to supply the United States, then peace will come. But if they try to choke off the supply of oil to the United States then we will attack. Only this time we will attack to win. We will seek to totally wipe-out the enemy. If they attack Israel, then there is a 50/50 chance the United States will respond with force. But time will tell. What effect has the pullout had on the United States economy? It has hurt the economy. The thousands of American civilians who served in Iraq are now without jobs. This means millions of dollars no longer going back into the economy. Thousands of troops are no longer getting the extra pay for being in Iraq. This means millions of dollars are no longer back into the economy. And not to mention all the American companies that were making money off the war. They have laid off thousands. That is why the recovery is stalling. Actually I never thought there was any recovery taking place. I feel the government is lying to itself trying to convince itself that recovery is taking place when it is not. And on top of that, they are trying to convince the American people that recovery is taking place. I do not see recovery taking place. But time will tell.
