Iraq Beer

Iraq beer or alcohol in Iraq has been on the list of “cannot have” since the start of the war in 2003. It had also been banned to Americans serving in Kuwait after the Gulf War of 1991. But this year, American soldier serving in Iraq and probably Afghanistan, are going to get to drink two 12 oz beers for the Super Bowl.

This is intended to be a morale booster for Americans serving in Iraq.

Iraq beer or alcohol is banned under Islam; however, it is in abundance in Kuwait, Iraq, Pakistan, Dubai and many Middle East counties that practice an outward appearance of Islam. I have been to parties in Kuwait where alcohol was flowing. My roommates always seemed to have enough for their needs. Alcohol is smuggled across the Kuwait border, in convoys heading to American bases. All one has to do to get their hands on it is know who to contact. Almost all of the foreign drivers coming out of Kuwait, and probably Europe, Jordan and Turkey drivers as well, bring alcohol with them to sell.

Despite repeated warnings, I have had to terminate many workers for alcohol abuse. When you get in a vehicle and run over someone it is obvious there is a problem. When this happens on a base, you are banned for working for the United States military for life.

In Baqubah, there were several instances where smuggling of Iraq beer was going on. American gate guards had deals make with some of the Iraqis. The Iraqis would bring the alcohol on them and the guard would give the pretense of checking them out before allowing them to come on base.

The Iraqis would then take the Iraq alcohol to their work station where they would sell it to the American supervisor. By the way, these supervisors were both civilian and military. Then the supervisor would give the gate guard their cut either in alcohol, money or both.

Also, Iraqis would stand on street corners, where the traffic is slowest, and sell Iraq beer to convoys as they drive by. They would also sell porn movies as well.

Islam seeks to enforce spirituality on people through fear. But poor Muslims, faced with feeding their families, ignore these fears. Supposedly, a gift for the poor is taking each year in the Islam religion. But the gift seems to get lost in the upper echelons of Islam management, who are greedy and could care less about the poor, but go to the Mosque and put on a good show each year.

I wonder what Allah would think of this if he were living today. Many of his followers are like the followers of God, they have head knowledge but their heart is not dedicated to following the beliefs of the Koran for Muslims or Bible for Christians. Go to my site: Many of the people I have worked with over the years drink. Since there is no Iraq beer, or beer that is legal for them to have, except the near beer, many of my co-workers talk about that first drink once they are in a place where they can have their first drink in months. This is usually Dubai, but only certain places in Dubai allow you to drink.

Me, well, I usually cannot wait to find McDonald’s and have a Big Mac.

God Bless our Troops and may the Mission be over soon so they can come home. For more on this story go to: www.msnbc.msn.com.
