Indian Embassy Was Bombed In Kabul

by David
(Somewhere Over The Pacific Ocean)

Today, July 7, 2008, the Indian Embassy was bombed in Kabul, Afghanistan by a suicide car bomber. The explosion injured 150 and killed 41 people. This happened on a calm street lined with trees where a lot of Afghans gather each day to apply for visas. Shops are nearby so women and children are among the dead and wounded as well.

Kabul is a very dangerous place and I am not looking forward to returning. I am on my way as I type this.

Afghanistan is blaming Pakistan for the bombing, saying they don't want India and Afghanistan to be friendly.

The Taliban says whenever they do a bombing they take credit but they deny they had anything to do with the Indian Embassy being bombed in Kabul.
