Female Suicide Bomber Killed 15 In Baqubah

A female suicide bomber killed 15 in Baqubah today, June 22, 2008. She also wounded another 40 Iraqis. This makes 21 female suicide bombings for 2008.

Among the dead are 7 police officers and 8 Iraqi civilians. The suicide bomber exploded herself in front of the courthouse, the post office, and the offices of the governor of Baqubah about 1pm when there were many people there.

The killer had a belt of explosives on under her traditional black robe so no one was suspicious of her until she exploded.

I personally felt the blast and saw the smoke. Hits here in Baqubah have been getting worse in the past few months as Al Qaeda has regained authority.
