Fast Food In Iraq

During my stay at TQ, I noticed that there were no fast food places. On most bases there is fast food in Iraq and it is so good. Since I was on a fact finding trip for my company to see if it was feasible to open a hardware store, like the one at Al Asad, I decided to ask how come there were no fast food joints at TQ.

I was told that Command did not want any there because they felt fast food made the soldiers complacent. I would like to read that study but have not been able to find it.

Sometimes, being able to have a little taste of home such as fast food, can make a soldier feel better. Command should take the soldier's feelings into consideration, not to mention that it is great to have a burger and fries once in a while!
