Position Description Position Title: electrician - Iraq (6 Month Contract) Clearance Required (SF 85)

SUMMARY OF DUTIES Repair, maintenance, and installation of electrical systems of assigned site(s). Conduct electrical repair, maintenance, and installation in accordance strict accordance with IEC, NEC, and IBC requirements and standards. Supervise local national electrician(s) as assigned. Reports directly to the Facilities Maintenance Technician. Performs assigned work as directed.

(a) Organizational setting for Electrician Jobs in Iraq:Regional Training Center(s) (RTC) performing repair, maintenance, and installation of electrical systems.

(b)Duties:

1. Perform routine repair, service calls, and maintenance of existing electrical systems. 2. Perform installation and replacement of electrical systems. 3. Supervise Local National electrician(s) in maintenance, repair, and installation of electrical systems. 4. Keep accurate records of work done. Upkeep and submittal of daily/weekly logs and required reports to management. 5. Update Facilities Maintenance Technician of all work undertaken and parts used on a weekly basis. 6. Ensure all electrical systems are inspected regularly to ensure their safety and effectiveness in accordance with standards and regulations.

7. Other duties as assigned for Electrician Jobs in Iraq:

1. DECISION-MAKINGAble to make decisions based on whether electrical repairs are beyond ability of local staff to repair, maintain, or install.

2. PERSONAL CONTACTS(Official business contacts and the purposes of the contacts?)Internal: Facilities Maintenance Technician(s), Site Logistics Coordinator(s), Site Coordinator(s), Site personnel submitting Service Calls, Iraq National Police personnel, O&M Manager, Logistics Manager.

External: Contracted Local National labour. Construction and Electrical Contractors. QA/QC. Others as required

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS for Electrician Jobs in Iraq:

(a)Physical demandsMust be physically fit standing and bending for long periods of time, must be able to lift heavy weights continually 50lbs or more and work in extreme weather both hot and cold also work under harsh living conditions possibly living in tents.(b)Environmental demands

1.Mandatory use of appropriate Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE) as required for the job to be performed in accordance with Policies and Standard Operating Procedures. 2.Afghanistan air quality is extremely poor and those with breathing problems or skin disease should not be recommended for this position.

3.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Recommended

1.Certified and licensed in their State of record to meet International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), National Electric Codes (NEC), International Building Codes(IBC) standards; capable of performing to IEC/NEC/IBC specifications/requirements.2.English Literacy; able to comprehend technical directions in English.3.Computer literacy in Microsoft Excel, Word, and ability to scan documents and use email.

Education and Experience Required for Electrician Jobs in Iraq:

2. Qualifications1. Certified and licensed in their country of record. 2. Post High School 2 year *degree in electrical installation and maintenance from a recognized and certified institution. Transcript must include completion of the following areas of training:

o Fundamentals of Electricity o Electrical Wiring o IEC regulations and requirements o Electrical Safety o Electrical Blueprint Reading o Technical Math o Introduction to Mechanics o Technical Speaking o College Physics o Industrial Wiring o Electrical Circuits o Technical Writing

*Degree must be equivalent to Associates Degree in one of the following areas:

o Electrical Technologyo Electrical Engineeringo Electrical

c.Post degree, minimum 4 years work experience with Journeyman electrician certification, performing installation and repair of commercial and residential electrical systems which meet IEC, NEC and IBC standards and required use of the following skills:

o Electrical Wiring Skills o Technical Writing Skills o Electrical Circuit Skills o Technical Speaking Skills o Electrical Safety Skills o Basic Mechanical Skills o Commercial Wiring Skills o Residential Wiring Skills o Problem-Solving Skills o Critical Thinking Skills o Mathematical Skills

d. Thoroughly knowledgeable of electrical installation and inspection requirements in both residential and commercial facilities operating on a 240VAC 50hz system.e. Strong written and verbal communications skills.f. Ability to review laws, codes, and regulations, analyze situations quickly and provide recommendations for action.g. Self motivated and be able to meet commitments.h. Must be well organized and have the ability to manage multiple projects with rigid deadlines.i. Must have strong computer skills for review of technical documents and presenting technical results.j. Willingness to travel to remote regions in austere environments for extended periods to perform duties.k. Knowledge of repair and maintenance of industrial generators 150KVA to 1500KVA preferred but not required.l. Preferred experience in overseas contractor experience supporting OIF or OEF.
