Camp Falcon Iraq
Camp Falcon Iraq is a base outside of Baghdad. This base used to be called Camp Ferrin-Huggins. In Arabic, this base is known as Camp Al-Saqr.
This camp is located just to the south of Baghdad, right on Baghdad's outskirts. Falcon was built to accommodate 5,000 troops but has few amenities that the soldiers enjoy. The few amenities that there are have only recently been added. Soldiers who were stationed at this camp during and before 2006 do not have anything good to say about it on You Tube. There is a basketball court, an internet cafe, a Subway sandwich shop, and a small PX that does not carry much. On a good note, the defac serves a good spread of food and there is concrete housing instead of tents. Good thing, too, with all of the rain they get. Apparently, everything there is brown and dirty. When it rains, the base turns into a big mud hole so there is not much vegetation. They see a lot of incoming so it is a dangerous place, although there are high walls. I had a hard time finding any recent (2008) information on this base. There are some videos of it on You Tube for you to look at.
I will add more to this page as I get additional information on it. I have never had to go to this particular base during my Iraqi travels. I have been checking with some of my buddies who are currently in Iraq and not one of them has been to this base either. So I apologize for the lack of information but will keep on researching.
