Camp Falcon

According to Josh who has been in Iraq for awhile, Camp Falcon Iraq is one of the nicer bases he has been to---

Well, like I said, I have only been here a few months and I have been on a few bases over here as a contractor and by far this is one of the nicer bases I've been to.

We have a very nice defac with good food and a variety of it as well as a Subway and Pizza Hut.

We also have a great MWR. It has a video game room, a movie theater and some pool tables.

The living conditions are better than most. There are only a few people in tents and those are the ones who choose to be there or new soldiers on the FOB (forward operating base). The rest of us are in single men rooms with a bathroom in the middle, also known as wet chus (containerized housing unit)((they take connexes and make them into housing)).

The soldiers are in barracks that hold about 500 people in each with an average of two to four people in each room.

The location is not that bad. We are right outside the Rashid district of Baghdad and so far very little incoming since I have been here.

Below are five pictures of Camp Falcon Iraq.

In all honesty I love it here compared to some of the bigger bases. The only thing I don't like is that we have a very small PX. It does not carry very much. But we have a nice little embroidery shop that does a lot of things for free for us so that kind of makes up for it.

Everything is within five minutes walking distance.

If there is anything specific you would like to know just let me know.

Thank you for the pictures and the information Josh. We hope your time there goes by fast and safely.
