Biggest Military Reenlistment In History

(Baghdad)
Does this sound like our U.S. soldiers are tired of being in Iraq and are against the war? Yesterday, July 4, 2008, in Baghdad, the biggest military reenlistment in history was performed. General David Petraeus held the ceremony and 1,215 soldiers, airmen, sailors, and marines reenlisted! They were proud and happy to do such a patriotic thing on Independence Day while serving in Iraq.
Of course, the reenlistment bonuses that they got helped. Because they are in a warzone, the bonuses are tax free and depending on branch of service and rank, could be as much as $40,000 for the Army, $45,000 for the Marines, $60,000 for the Air Force and $75,000 for the Navy.
Hundreds of those who reenlisted were already in their second or third tours of duty in Iraq.
So, Democrats, it seems our military personnel think we are making progress and it is working!
