Al-Sadr
Al-Sadr for short or the long version, anti-U.S. cleric Muqtada al-Sadr, who is the commander of a group of militia fighters who have wrecked havoc on Iraq and killed many United States military personal is calling for his remaining Shiite fighters to raise up and attack the United States for Israel’s attack on Gaza.
He is now believed to be hiding in Iran, wants his people to rise up and commit acts of violence against United States soldiers. Sadr's forces have been hammered constantly by United States and Iraqi forces. At one time he held Friday services encouraging Iraqis to attack those who did not believe as he did. Many Iraqis were beheaded by Al-Sadr forces. The attacks got so bad that his own people started turning on him. There has been a relative calm for the many months he has been hiding in Iran. Time and determination by US and Iraqi forces have chipped away at his once powerful political base until he escaped to Iran in fear of his life. He had tried to control the political scene in Iraq since the Iraqi government took over control of its future in July of 2004. He has staged protest and threatened to derail the whole government system. But so far his threats have not yielded the political demise of the Iraqi government as he had hoped. Al-Sadr wants the United States to intervene in the attacks on Hamas. Why is it that when it suits their political agenda, people want the US to get involved? The US has its hands full in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Let the rest of the world due something to relieve the suffering in Palestine. Let the rest of the world due something to ease the suffering in Sudan. Let the rest of the world deal with the Somalia pirates. Let the rest of the world deal with Iran. Let the rest of the world deal with North Korea. The United States needs a break. Let’s face some facts. If Mexico or Canada were launching missiles at the United States each day would we sit back and do nothing. If our neighbor across the street was shooting at us would we do nothing? No. We would attack. We might try some peace talks but if these did not work, we would attack. So why condemn Israel for defending itself. It seems that, on the surface, Sadr has lost a lot of power. Do not believe this for a moment. As long as he is alive, he will be a threat to the peace process in Iraq. It is too bad the United States did not “accidentally” drop a two thousand pound bomb on his house when we had the chance.

Bottom line is, Israel would not be attacking Palestine if they were a peaceful people.
